A message from the Headteacher:
Welcome to the website for Beech Street Primary School in Winton, Eccles.
I am proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school which is the heartbeat of our local community. Beech Street is a one-form entry primary school offering provision from Nursery to Year 6 and has around 250 children on role.
Beech Street is a warm, friendly school which strives to help all of our families develop a deep love of learning. We recognise that all our children are unique and we aim to nurture their individual talents and celebrate their efforts and achievements.
The children of Beech Street are happy to attend our school. They feel safe, secure and enjoy learning with the adults who support their journey. There is an exciting and energetic atmosphere in our lively school – it is a place full of positivity and opportunity. We promote the use of THRIVE to help our children learn to regulate their emotions in a positive way.
We are continually enhancing our curriculum offer at Beech Street, to ensure we can deliver a curriculum which equips our children to succeed in later life. All our curriculum areas have been designed by experts in their subjects to ensure skills and knowledge are built on each year as our children journey through school. We supplement our curriculum with a range of visitors, trips and experiences to help bring learning to life through first-hand experiences.
In Key Stage Two, our children have some dedicated 'enrichment time' to experience something 'inspiring' they would not otherwise be able to access in the school day. In addition to this, children are offered the opportunity to take part in the JASS Award which offers children the opportunity to achieve recognition for learning new skills, supporting the community, staying active and experiencing adventures.
We pride ourselves on providing as many sporting opportunities to our children as possible. We are part of the Salford Sports Cluster and try to ensure that every child who attends Beech Street is given the opportunity to represent our school at a sporting event before they leave. Each member of staff offers an after-school club which suits the needs and interests of our children.
In addition to sport, reading has a very high profile at Beech Street. Our youngest children in Nursery and Reception receive our 'Five A Day' guarantee that each child will access five adult led books each day, whilst our older children enjoy the responsibility of being Reading Ambassadors and spreading their knowledge and passion for books throughout the school. Staff have dedicated class story time every afternoon and each book is chosen with care to make our children fall in love with reading.
We are always adding new content to the website so please keep popping back to find out more. If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to call the office or I can always be found on the school playground each morning and on most afternoons.
Visitors are always welcome and, for new or prospective parents, I would warmly encourage you to come and visit us to see what we can offer you and your child.
